- Head Coach Davis Payne was not happy with the effort he saw lately. On Monday morning the players came in to an an intense practice session. Elevated voiced and stern commands were heard. Will the players heed their leaders call? They better.

An obvious change coming from this practice was an update to the lines. McDonald returned to center, Backes to right wing and Steen to the top line. With the Blues struggling to generate offense, its a need change.

Steen brings the same gritty effort Backes does.
McDonald brings mobility to the middle of the ice.
Backes brings a big body flying down the wing on the forecheck.

Last time Sobotka got a chance on a Backes line, they produced chances in a losing effort. Will be interesting to see how they do on the wings with Berglund between them.

- Tyson Strachan and TJ Hensick are the expected scratches.

- Kudos to 2010 First Round draft selection Jaden Schwartz on being named to the Canadian U-20 World Junior Selection Camp roster. Alas, no Brett Ponich. [HockeyCanada.ca]

* I will be doing a Q&A with Jaden soon. Please send in your questions to thebluenotezone@yahoo.com. I ‘d like to work in some fan submitted questions.
